Ottawa – The Ottawa Jr. Senators are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Jacob Guévin who spent last season with Northwood in the USHS-Prep.
The 17-year-old rearguard arrived in Ottawa last week and made his OJS pre-season debut over the weekend. The coaching staff was quick to realize that Guévin’s style of play would benefit the team greatly.
“I see myself as an offensive defenseman but I recognize the importance of playing sound defensive hockey when my team doesn’t have the puck. I’m able to make a good first pass and I won’t shy away from joining the rush.”
Despite not playing organized hockey since last March, Guévin says he’s more than ready to start the regular season.
“In the past few months, I have stepped on the ice 2-3 times a week as well as spending time working out almost every day. I’ll be ready once the season starts.”
A native of Drummondville, Québec, Guévin will move on to NCAA hockey with the University of Nebraska-Omaha once his time in the CCHL comes to an end.

Ottawa – Les P’tits Sénateurs sont fiers d’annoncer la mise sous contrat du défenseur Jacob Guévin qui évoluait avec Northwood dans la USHS-Prep la saison dernière.
L’arrière-garde de 17 ans est arrivé à Ottawa la semaine dernière et a fait ses débuts avec l’équipe quelques jours plus tard lors d’un match pré-saison. L’état-major a tout de suite pu constanter ce que le jeune défenseur pourra apporter l’équipe.
“Je me décris comme étant un défenseur offensif mais je considère que je suis quand même très fiable défensivement. Je fais une bonne première passe et j’aime bien appuyer l’attaque.”
Malgré la pandémie qui sévit depuis plusieurs mois, Guévin se dit prêt à entamer la prochaine saison.
“Depuis déjà quelques mois, j’embarque sur la glace deux à trois jours par semaine et je suis dans la gymnase presqu’à chaque jour. Je vais assurément être prêt lorsque la saison débutera.
Originaire de Drummondville au Québec, Guévin évoluera dans la NCAA chez les Mavericks de l’Université Nebraska-Omaha lorsque son séjour dans la CCHL sera complété.
